Pay From the Heart

An approach rooted in access, trust, reciprocity, and collective care.

SUPPORTED RATE Choose this rate when paying the standard rate would create genuine financial strain or require you to compromise your basic needs. This rate may fit if meeting expenses such as housing, food, healthcare, transportation, childcare, or other essential needs is regularly difficult; you have little or no financial cushion; unexpected expenses create significant hardship; or accessing this work at the standard rate simply isn't realistic right now. Receiving support is part of community care. If this is the rate you need, it is here for you. SUSTAINING RATE Choose this rate when you can comfortably meet your basic needs and pay the regular cost of the offering without significant financial strain. You may still need to budget and make thoughtful decisions about where your money goes. Choosing this rate might mean prioritizing this experience over another nonessential expense, but it does not interfere with your ability to meet your needs or create ongoing financial hardship. This is the rate that helps sustain the everyday work of Rising Strong Wellness. COMMUNITY CARE RATE Choose this rate when you have greater financial flexibility and would like your payment to help extend access to someone else. Your basic needs are comfortably met, you have access to financial reserves or other resources, and paying a little more does not create financial strain. Choosing this rate helps support the sustainability of my work while making Supported Rate spaces possible. This is one small way we practice collective care: when we have more capacity, we can help create room for someone who has less right now. How do I know which rate to choose? I invite you to consider the difference between stretch and strain. A stretch might mean choosing this offering instead of dining out, buying something new, or spending money elsewhere that month. Strain means your participation could interfere with your ability to meet essential needs, increase financial instability, or draw from resources you genuinely need elsewhere. Choose from your actual circumstances—not from guilt, comparison, or what you think you should be able to afford. Circumstances change. There may be seasons when you need the Supported Rate and seasons when you are able to choose the Community Care Rate. Both receiving and giving support belong within a healthy community. Nobody Gets Left Behind Even the lowest listed rate will not be accessible to everyone. If cost is a barrier and you genuinely want to receive these practices, please reach out. I can't promise that every offering or arrangement will be possible, but I never want money to be the reason you assume you aren't welcome to ask. We belong to each other. Care moves in more than one direction.

How it works

“All flourishing is mutual.” — Robin Wall Kimmerer, The Serviceberry

Pay From the Heart is one small way I try to put that belief into practice: creating a model where receiving support, sustaining the work, and extending care to someone else can all belong to the same circle.
